About Us

Created in 2003, Opportunity International China helps to transform lives by providing poor entrepreneurs with microbusiness loans, training, and business consulting services. These loans and trainings enable clients to develop and sustain income-generating enterprises that create jobs for community members. OI China is motivated by Jesus Christ’s call to serve the poor without regard to ethnicity, gender, or religious affiliation.

Opportunity International China's mission is to grow businesses, create jobs, and transform lives. The high repayment rate of loans and our sustainable business model are achieved through systematic risk assessment and management as well as follow-up client training and professional coaching services. Opportunity International China, with its head office in Nanjing, has three companies:  Opportunity International Anhui in the city of Hefei, and OI China (Suyu) Rural Micro Credit Company in Suqian, and OI China (Chuzhou) Rural Microcredit Company in Huai'an,  Jiangsu Province.

Not only are OI China's branches growing at 45% with above break-even results, they also created or sustained 37,013 jobs in 2011. 13% of OI China's client base are wholesalers and retailers, 13% percent are small workshops/manufacturers, 21% are agricultural clients, and the rest are engaged in animal husbandry and aquaculture.

Opportunity International Hong Kong

Opportunity International Hong Kong exists as the fundraising arm for Opportunity International China. Opportunity International is registered in Hong Kong as well as in China, and the relationship allows us to conduct proper fundraising and asset management on an international level. All fundraising is done through OI Hong Kong, with all donations going straight to the work being done by OI China. Though this is a .hk website labeled as Opportunity International Hong Kong, all OI Hong Kong work is dependent on the work being done by OI China.
